Fall Dinner / Dance

Added on 13th September 2010

In Toronto, September started with hot, humid, summer-like weather conditions. It has been a strange year, with Spring weather arriving earlier than normal (in mid-March!) and then June being the rainiest June on record for the area. For the third year in a row, I have not had to use a sprinkler on my lawn to keep the grass green even with the hot, sunny days we experienced (outside of June). Both my front and back lawns have looked the best they ever have - if you ignore the last two weeks during which some 4-legged creatures (I suspect skunks) have been digging up parts of the back lawn in search of white grub! However, reality has finally set in, and the current weather has started to turn cool with the occasional rain-shower. The Autumnal equinox will occur in 10 days time (on 22 Sept.) when it will officially become Fall. To celebrate (or mourn...your choice) this event belatedly, we shall be holding our always popular Fall Dinner/Dance in about four weeks time - on Sat. 16 October in the very conducive environment of the West Rouge Community Centre. We hope that many of you will attend but, if you plan to do so and haven’t ordered your tickets yet, I encourage you to do so immediately. This event is usually sold out (it’s an “intimate-sized” hall), so order your tickets TODAY to avoid being disappointed. As a reminder of the details (which are shown below), the price of admission includes DINNER and ALL DRINKS, both liquor and non-liquor (so leave your money at home!). Also, by popular demand, the DJ of last year is back again so that you can dance the night away, and the site with its cozy atmosphere remains the same. The details are as follows : --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE : Sat. 16 October, 2010 TIME : 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. DINNER : Served from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PLACE : West Rouge Community Centre 270 Rouge Hills Drive, Toronto (Hwy 401 / Hwy #2 / Port Union Road) DRESS : “Casual Elegance” (no blue jeans, please) DONATION : $40 per person (ALL INCLUSIVE - dinner and all drinks) Tickets are available from any member of the Executive.
