ST STANISLAUS COLLEGE ASSOCIATION WALL OF FAME PROGRESS REPORT TO
APRIL O6, 2004 Construction of the chain link section is the first phase of this project. The strip foundation, galvanized pipe columns and hollow concrete block stump wall have been completed along Hadfield Street, Manget Place and for 100 feet along Brickdam, a total of approximately 655 feet. Fixing of the chainlink along an initial short section in Hadfield Street has also started. This is to confirm the method of attaching the chainlink to the galvanized pipe supports. Once this is approved fixing will continue along the entire length. As agreed with the Contractor and in keeping with the funds available there will be 93 feet of Wall of Fame. East of the main entrance in Brickdam there will be a 28 feet section. On the west of the main entrance there will be 65 feet which will connect with the old Heritage Fence section which will not be tampered with at this time. The Contractor has brought to our attention that this arrangement creates an “unbalanced” appearance, and has suggested that the section on the east be increased to 65 feet. We agree with his observation and recommendation and would like to give him the go-ahead to do this additional section of Wall of Fame. The increase in cost would be in the vicinity of G$ 350,000. ( approx Cdn$ 2,700) or 7.5 % of Contract Total. In exchange we will have more wall space to “sell” which we are sure will not be difficult to do once people see the completed Wall.
